How do I sharpen the knife?

I found a combat knife in my basement that comes with a leather pouch and small stone as a sharpener. I think it might be of granite or something. But basically I do not know the proper technique for sharpening the knife. So if you can explain or direct me that would be great.

sharpening stone is not granite. As for sharpening itself, given that you have not done before is very difficult for stones start. Especially the little stone that you mentioned. It is a challenge to the principle of holding the angle constant. Besides single stone is more likely to retouch not real sharp. As it is, by far the best for you would sandpaper / method mousepad.
