Paint Leather
How do i get spray paint of leather shoe?
I have Adidas leather shoes, spray paint can exploded and my left shoe is yellow. they were $120 and i don’t want to buy another pair unless i absolutely need to. if there is any way to remove the spray paint without destroying my shoes i would like it know.
i have tried nail polish remover on a small speckle and after a couple minute of rubbing it came half off, this is way to slow and will take many hours. i also tried covering with black shoe polish but it did nothing.
Lacquer thinner which is available at hardware stores is the solvent to remove the spray paint.
Have several clean rags handy since they will eventually just be pushing the softened paint around and not be lifting it off. If you are worried about protecting your hands you will need nitrile, neoprene, or vinyl gloves since the solvent will cause rubber or latex gloves to swell up and fall apart really fast. These type gloves can be found in the paint section of the hardware store.
Test a spot first because the solvent might also remove the black color of the shoes.
